Parenting is the process of promoting and supporting overall development of one’s child from infancy to till the last moment possible but especially till adulthood.
Sadhguru reminds us that no person has ever known the best way to be a parent or could possibly have a guide to it. Parenting is not an easy task, it is one of the hardest jobs. Before one starts nurturing their child he/she should look at themselves, what they do, how they do; because their child is a keen observer and will pick up everything. So the first and foremost thing is that we should at least mould ourselves in the way we want our child to be.
A child does not need a parent, they need a friend, a constant support, a constant person for all affirmations that one needs to move forth in different phases of life. Where one can create the right kind of atmosphere or sense of joy, love, care and discipline for themselves and for their home. What matters is the type of human being we raise, for this, the most important thing is how you portray yourself in front of your child.
Bringing up the child in an open atmosphere that is free of prejudices, generally does the best. So we can say Parenting is not about how to be a parent, but to understand what to keep in mind while being one.
